Updating Canvas User Settings

This article is for faculty who would like to update their Canvas user settings.


Select Account from the Global Navigation Menu on the far left side of your screen. Then choose Profile from the popout menu.

Choose settings.

Your user settings page includes personal information including your profile picture, name, pronouns, language, and time zone.  web services, approved integrations, and feature options.

2. Add or Modify Your Profile Picture

To add or modify your profile picture, hover over your profile picture and select the edit pencil icon.

You can upload a picture, take a picture using your computer's camera, or import an image from an existing Gravatar account. When you're finished, select Save.

3. Edit User Settings

Edit user setting by selecting Edit Settings on the sidebar.

You can select personal pronouns to choose the pronouns that will display throughout Canvas, change the language in which Canvas appears, and change your time zone. Select Update Settings to save changes.

4. Edit Feature Options

Scroll down  to view Feature Options. Feature Options control Canvas features related to accessibility, spreadsheet exports, and celebration animations.

To enable or disable a feature, select the State icon for the feature.
