Using Zoom to share an iPad App in GoReact

This article is for Faculty and Students who want to share work in real time while recording a GoReact video.


1. Open a Zoom Meeting

Plug your tablet into your computer and enable share settings between the tablet and computer.

Choose the iPhone/iPad via cable option, then select Share.

Configure your shared screen settings on the screen itself. (1) Drag the Zoom transport controls to another screen. (2) Pull the shared space on the right toward the right hand side. (3) Pull the shared space on the left toward the left.  

Hover your cursor over the green lines on the right and left hand side until your cursor changes to horizontal directional arrows.

The image below shows the settings made above. This will be the shared view that will be displayed to your GoReact video viewers.

2. Access Your GoReact Assignment

2.1. Open the Assignment.

Open the assignment by clicking on its name inside of the module.

Select START ASSIGNMENT.

Add a Title then select CONTINUE.

Select the Share your screen icon, the monitor with a slash though it. Test out your mic and make sure you have it enabled.

Next, select Entire Screen.

Choose the screen with the iPad app displayed. Then select Share.

Check your levels on your mic once GoReact has enabled your screen share.

Hide "GoReact is sharing your screen" message on shared monitor by selecting Hide.

Select the Record button in GoReact to begin recording. Control your external application on your iPad and it will display the work in real time on the GoReact recording.

Select FINISH to end the recording.

After processing your video, GoReact plays the video back for you to review. Select Post or Delete.

Faculty Posting view: Selecting Post will add your video to your GoReact recordings area for that specific assignment. Note: my settings are standard assignment with open peer reviews enabled

Student posting view: Selecting Post will add your video to the MINE section of the assignment area. Note: the GoReact settings in this example are set to open peer review. This is why in the student view below, peer submissions are viewable for students when they select PEER.
